The steps to set up were easy to follow. If you have a toddler or are in the middle of something on your phone it’s probably not a 2 minute no brainer like a cartridge printer, if you’re new to filling the tanks, etc. but the instructions and app walk you through it easily. I was also pleased that there were no drips or mess when using the ink refill bottles. They plug into the ink well and pushing down on the well top pushing the inner lid out so it stays closed until it’s in place on the printer.****The only thing I got stuck on during setup was at the end when it printed the test sheet for alignment, you’re supposed to then scan the print out on the scanning bed to finalize the alignment setup. Once I finally saw that on the test sheet before throwing it away, and it scanned in, everything was all set! It’s been easy to add my laptop and print things off from other devices. Tonight I made my teacher printables in Canva, downloaded to a pdf for CMYK print, printed to 110lb index cardstock paper and it came out perfect! It’s going to get so much use I absolutely love it!

Letâs start with some hidden requirements that This has you wonât find it on the box or in the description but you do need a private Wi-Fi network where you have access to it. If you sharing it good luck they promised me that I would be able to install this using the cable. But the instruction say you need an ethernet cable and it only has a USB port.I had to play around with setting up alternative identities and other things to trick it into allowing me to install it using the wire. But I can only do simple printing I canât scan I can print new color.They used to be the concept of plug-in play plugged in the printer and it worked. Iâve done that so many times, but this one requires you download their proprietary software and work through their menus and their system to do anything. Why? It offers nothing for me.If you think itâs important that when you buy a printer it does what you want instead of you having to do what the manufacturer wants donât buy this theyâre not even familiar with the latest version of the Mac operating system. They still think the latest one is year old.There were more errors and problems in the installation of this printer then Iâve ever seen before and I still donât have it set up right I set up printers and proprietary networks and even custom designed cables for them so itâs not like Iâm afraid of technology HP used to be a great company They must be run by someone whoâs intent them sabotaging themBe afraid. Be very afraid.

Small problems, but does good
First off, go into the settings and select photo inkjet papers, this will make the black ink stay on the paper. Now, this printer prints very good with good print quality, it is easy to connect if your network is good, and it is easy to load and fix problems. The cons to this printer are when your network or power goes out, you may need to manually connect the wifi again, not all the time, the software on the computer is not that good, and if you are trying to print on our transparent paper, it will not work, you need the ones that are stuck on to a white paper to work, I have and image of that, and sometimes jams happens. The Pros, the ink will last for like 2 years, and buying more is cheap.

I purchased this printer after my other one broke after years of use. So far it works really well. The colors are nice and I like the Bluetooth feature. I have not had issues with it yet so hopefully it stays that way. It was good for the price and is convenient.

Acetate Prints
Following the instructions everything comes out easy and fast, the connectivity is the best, that in my case, my only problem is that I have done everything, tried everything to print compatible acetate sheets for HP AND EPSON but I cannot make it print, I have used the instructions the captions in the settings, I have chosen everything as indicated but I cannot print on transparent sheets for screen printing or special paper for screen printing. If anyone could help me I would greatly appreciate it. Otherwise it is a printer, in fact I have a laser too and I have never had problems THANK YOU HP.

I like that the print heads are changble. I have the epson eco tank and it failed twice on the print heads,epson sent me a new one. I did not order an other one. I got the Hp which has much more user friendly software, easy to and install and really only the one app. ( epson has sometimes over 10 depending on the computer it is connected too.) Eco tanks need there print heads clean periodically, I am sure that this will not be an issue on this HP as they are removable and replacable on amazon. Print quality is good and it is fastenough. It is a little fussy about how the paper is installed, but that is a minor issue. I am loving it.

I am enjoying this printer quite a bit. It was mostly easy to set up, loading up the ink was quick and mess-free, everything you need to know to actually print is pretty straight forward except for one thing. Setting up the wi-fi was a bit complicated. My previous printer had a larger screen which allowed you to set everything up right on the printer but this one requires an app and then it kept not wanting to connect. Once it linked, it was great and itâs been working flawlessly with all my devices. The print quality is good too. So I just hope the ink truly does last for two years on the recommended use which is about the amount of use I normally give my printers. I also hope it doesnât quit on me like the cartridge printer I had before.

In 2017 I bought an Epson ET-2850, because for years before that Epson never let me down and I was off of HP at the time. Anyway, things have really changed and that printer was a nonstop source of frustration.Fast forward 6 years and I had just had enough. Settled on the HP Eco Tank 6001, and it’s just so much better in every way. Prints much, much faster. It can do two sided printing. The WiFi connection is actually usable without jumping though hoops. Photo printing quality is on par but takes less than a quarter of the time.I can say setup wasn’t exactly a breeze and was a bit frustrating, but that’s a one time thing. Printer had to be online for the setup to complete.My printer’s IP is now blocked by my firewall. It will never speak to anything on the internet again. This ensures no unwanted firmware updates that disable functionality, which is apparently an issue some people have faced.The printer didn’t come with a USB cable but I had one lying around. It’s the old square type. When you set the printer up, you’re forced to “choose between USB and WIFI” and it disables whatever option you don’t choose. I was able to reenable the USB right after however, and both work fine side by side. This made my life a lot easier because printing from PCs is a pain over WiFi (can’t cross LAN segments) and printing over USB is nearly impossible for mobile devices.I can’t speak for ink costs as I’m not a heavy user, but once you’ve used an eco tank type printer, the idea of having to pay for cartridges every few months is just a bad memory. You are saving HUNDREDS of dollars.One of my main gripes with my old printer was trying to clean the print heads when nozzles clogged. At first it was possible, but it got to a point where nothing I did worked. If that ever happens with this printer, the print heads are replaceable, easily.

Printhead failures constantly continue HP does this support/reset every time and they get it working but it fails the next time I go to print. So I go through it again and again and they won’t do anything to resolve the real issue. This is not how this product should work. When it does print the print quality is excellent. Very disappointed with the service from HP they actually closed my support case without resolving the issue. Not cool for such large company. They have seen the issue by accessing the camera on my phone during the support call and still not getting the issue resolved is very frustrating. Very frustrating to have to unplug and leave it unplugged for 1 minute then take out the printheads and reinstall everytime I want to print. If the product is clearly defective then replace it! Call centre in India certainly doesn’t help. I wish these things were disclosed upfront before purchasing a product so the consumer can make an informed decision. I have asked for everything to be in English and they continue to send every email in French I feel this is very disrespectful.
