    The everything printer
Initial Review Oct 3, 2022Canon GX7021 All-In-One PrinterThe short version is this is a good printer. It is loaded with features, is fast, and of course the ink tank design is far preferable to the ink cartridge design.I recommend this printer. Now the long version.A key parameter for me was the printer must have both two sided scan and two sided print. These must function without manual intervention to flip and reinsert pages. It was not easy doing the research to meet these goals, especially the two sided scanning feature. Research worked best by downloading the user manual for each printer, also to ask users if the auto duplex scan was included. Sadly many people saw the advertisements that said, “Duplex Printing” or “Two sided printing” and thought that applied to scanning. In the end I could not find what I was looking for under $500. I just had to accept the fact that I was going to have to spend more than I’d ever spent on a printer. For about five years we’ve been using an Epson XP-830 which is a small, ink cartridge, full function little printer. That Epson died so we needed a new printer. The little XP-830 does have duplex scanning and duplex printing. I was surprised to see so many printers these days do not have duplex scanning.Aside from the duplex scanning we also wanted:- Color printing- Duplex Scanning and printing- Front loading and front eject of printed documents- The ability to remotely select 8×10 plain paper or 4×6 photo paper- One of the new ink tank designs- WiFi- Print from PC or Smartphone- Scan to PC- Print on card stock- Auto Document FeederThis printer does all of that and more. The one parameter we just couldn’t get around was a lower price. These things are expensive. After I ordered it my wife (the majority user of the printer) asked how much it cost. My response was, “You don’t want to know.”Setup was easy but took about ½ hour. That was mostly about loading the ink into the printer and allowing the printer to go through startup steps. The printer is relatively quiet but has a quite mode setting which will slow certain operations. As we’ve only had the printer for a few weeks I can’t speak of it’s reliability. Does it jam? Does it print clearly and properly? So far so good.Printing a photo isn’t fast. But to copy pages it is quite fast. I knew this was a winner when my wife was pleased at how fast it is.I like the ability to control the printer from my PC or Smartphone with the Canon app.2 x 250 sheet trays will keep us going for months without loading more paper. The price is the one undesirable factor. If you’re a small business this might be the printer for you. If this is just a family printer and you do a lot of printing this also might be a good choice. If you can live without the 2-sided scan feature you might find a less expensive printer. Or if you’re like me and you just have to have that feature this is the best one I’ve found.I recommend this printer

Prints High Quality Photos and documents
I love this printer! I never write reviews, but I made an exception for this Canon Maxify GX4020 printer. I print hundreds of copies for my work with preschool children and to illustrate the songs I teach to Primary children. This printer prints beautiful pages on multiple types of paper; super quickly and high quality. Set up was easy and any glitches with wireless printing or finding any unusual settings were quickly solved. The touch screen is small but works very well. Canon updates the software often and when I experienced a printing “error” message, I clicked on the link which took me to the online owners manual solving the problem easily! Filling the ink tanks was easy and is definitely more economical than replacing ink cartridges. The rear tray and output paper tray are sturdy. It also has scanner and fax capabilities! this is a wonderful all-in-one machine!

A great upgrade to our printer!
We previously had a HP printer that was having odd issues that no one seemed to be able to fix. So, we began researching new printers. What a daunting task! There are so many various kinds out there. After reading multiple articles and talking to some friends, I knew we wanted a tank one. You get so much more out of the ink that way. After that, we researched what all we were going to use it for and landed on this guy. While I hate to spend money, even when I need to, this was well worth it. We have had it up and running for about 1.5 months so far. Not a single paper jam, prints my cardstock just fine and scans effortlessly. I thought it had a special third paper area in the far back, but have not seen anything to that as of yet. It is fairly easy to setup and navigate. I was printing within an hour of opening the box. Their customer service people were helpful. My only real complaint is that it does not come with a physical manual. I get that everything is online now, but there is something to be said about having the manual to reference, especially with products such as this. As of now I am happy with the purchase.

So far it works as intended.
I needed to replace an old Kodak EasyShare 5500 printer we had since about 2007. For what I needed, the Kodak printer was not the best printer, but it got the job done and the inks were very cheap compared to the inks from other printers of that time. After Kodak stopped making printers, it was getting harder and harder to find Kodak inks and printer heads. The quality of the photo prints was good with aftermarket inks but not the same with aftermarket printheads. I finally ended up throwing it away. So, I started my search for an all-in-one photo printer with a flat top scanner, auto document feeder and duplex printing. A printer that would perform the same or better than my old Kodak. After reading all the good and bad reviews, I put my eye on 2 printers. One was a Brother brand and the other was the Canon MAXIFY GX4020. At first, I had the Brother printer ordered but canceled the order because of the high price for ink cartridges. I put some more thought and research on the Canon MAXIFY GX4020 and decided this was the one. It’s on the pricey side but it had all of the features of my old Kodak and more. I received it yesterday afternoon. It was a little bigger than the Kodak. About the same width at the front but about 2 to 3 inches longer from the front to the back, but it fit on the desk, so I was happy. Plugged it in, went through the setup process, filled the ink tanks and connected to the Wi-Fi network. Did a few scans from the flat top scanner and from the document feeder. I also printed some documents from two laptops and a photo from my phone. For me, the setup was easy and had no problems. As others have posted, this printer does not come with an owner’s manual or online documentation. The only documents in the box were warning information and a quick start card. I have not had this printer for 24 hours yet, so, I will definitely update this review as time goes on.
