Excellent inexpensive printer
I am very pleased with the DCP-L2640DW. It is very easy to operate with my iPhone and the Brother Mobile Connect app. Using AirPrint makes printing easy. The printed texts are sharp. The quality of color scans is impressive. I can copy double-sided pages using the flatbed scanner. The only problem was getting useful help from many in customer service. I finally found someone who knew what he was doing and answered all of my questions. Very reasonable price for what I need.

Good basic All around Monochrome Printer
I love Brother printers. They are more affordable then an HP, Toner lasts forever and just very durable and rugged. This printer is no exception. If you need just a basic Monochrome (No color) that also has a color scanner and Copier, this is the one for you.It also has Built in Wired and Wireless Networking. This printer DOES work with the Brother android and Apple apps and prints very nicely from you phone. This was a prerequisite for the client I purchased this for.The only thing I wish it had was a better way to navigate the menu system. Its using the arrow keys and the ok button. It works, just takes some getting used to.Same goes for entering the WiFi password. You have to arrow to each letter. Her password was all lowercase so that was easy but if you have symbols and uppercase that takes a little more time to enter. Another area that gave some issues, but setting up the Scan to PC funtion. I never could get it working properly. She also didnt need that function as you can do it right from the PC itself so we never spent too much time on it.Otherwise the printer is very fast and good quality printing, Durable and should last for many many years.

Great B&W printer/scanner/copier for price
Works great and definitely sufficient image quality for our needs. I set it up on a really ancient MacBook Pro, and thus was unable to download the Brother software for it. I thought we were screwed, but I tried printing, scanning and copying anyway, mainly using the on-printer buttons and menus, and everything worked a treat! And so fast, unlike our slothful inkjets. Only hitch was weâve had to access the scanner software from the Macâs Preferences/Printers although Iâm pretty sure I can do it via the printer interfaceâjust havenât figured out how, yet.Highly recommend based on price, performance, image quality and ease of use.

I recently purchased the Brother DCP-L2640DW for my home office, and it has been a productive addition to my workspace. The compact design is perfect for small areas, yet it doesnât compromise on functionality.Pros: The print speed is impressive, with up to 36 pages per minute, making quick work of even the largest documents1. Duplex printing is a breeze, which helps save on paper costs and is better for the environment2. The 250-sheet paper tray is ample for my needs, and I appreciate the 50-page auto document feeder for scanning multiple pages at once1. Wireless connectivity options are robust, offering both Ethernet and dual-band Wi-Fi, which means I can print from multiple devices with ease1.Cons: While the print quality is generally excellent, Iâve noticed that it can be a bit light on very fine details. The initial setup was a bit more involved than I expected, but once configured, it has worked flawlessly.

Finally, a printer that works well and appears to last
I love this printer so far. It’s a laserjet and the reviews and my friends indicated that a Brother printer is the best out there. I’ve had an HP; will never have one of those again. Currently I have a Canon Pixma TR8520. What a piece of crap! I’ll never have one of those again either.The Brother was extremely easy to set up, has a large paper tray, two mobile devices are set up and one PC hardwired. All worked the first time and promises to generate much more printing prior to needing an ink replacement.Also, the ink cartridge (actually a toner cartridge) is extremely reasonable considering how many pages are printed compared to the very frequent 70 to 100 dollar ink replacement for the Canon which I’m sure is engineered to tag you that it has run out of ink way before they actually have.Additionally, I researched the prefixes that Brother uses and this model which (out of three) is the middle one (DCP) consisting of more features and was actually cheaper than the standard lower model.I don’t think printers should be such a frustrating item to own, especially to the casual homeowner use as I have needed. I’m sure some (Canon/HP) are designed to last for a short period of time, regenerate profit by unreasonable high ink prices and sell at prices designed to throw them away and buy new ones every so many years. I’m looking forward to seeing how the Brother does and have high hopes at this point.

Great Printer/Scanner – No APP needed!
Brother printers have always had a great reputation for ease of use, no malware apps, or requiring internet connection to work. USB/WiFi/Ethernet are all still here. Toner means I don’t have to worry about the print head getting dirty or needing to waste ink for continual “Cleaning”. Web interface is easy to use and flexible.Multi-Feed scan makes scanning multiple pages a breeze.. no opening and closing multiple times. Set scan and done.Feels professional without the price tag!Very happy with this purchase and would defiantly recommend!

Unlike some people here; I had no problem setting it up. Connection to WiFi was kind of funny without a physical keyboard, but it’s the kind of thing you do once. Just insert the utilities CD and follow the instructions. I do agree it’s REALLY noisy though. You may think the printer mechanically struggles to get the sheet from the tray and route it internally for printing, but it’s not. For the price, can’t complain much about that. The bottom line is that the printing quality/price ratio is excellent.

I plugged in the USB cord, and about one second later Windows 10 told me my printer was set up. All functions worked including print, scan, and photocopy, that quick! If you use WiFi I guess there are a couple more steps, but I like USB hard wired, and for that you likely won’t even need the included disc. (You will however need a USB printer cable which I had from my last printer.) Opposite experience vs. some other companies where you literally need an account to use your hardware. Brother was my first laser printer back in the late 90’s, and after a couple other brands over 25 years, I am so happy to be back to Brother again. 5 stars all day long!

The set up went very smooth with my desktop and connectivity on my network is great. The print quality for B&W is ok, not what you get with a big office unit, but quick daily printing its perfect. The feeder at the top works well, it does not perfectly align the paper sometimes, but does a great job of feeding multiple papers and does not jam. My scanning software (Vuescan) works well with it, except it does not recognize the multi feed feature, I probably need to spend more time to debug that feature. Its nice and compact for what it provides in features. The replacement cartridges are reasonably priced compared to ink jet cartridges. You cannot turn it off unless you unplug it, but the sleep mode seems to work well.
